270 inch Plasma TVs from Shinoda Plasma

 Ok, Ok I admit it, so the picture isn't a genuine 270 incher. but the headline is for real!
The  pdp manufacturer has announced that it will be making around 10 screens in 2008 and 100 screens in 2009.  The initial offerings will be 142" and shortly after focus will shift to the 270".

These vast entertainment devices are manufactured by the company started by the man credited with inventing the pdp(plasma display panel) Tsuate Shinoda. The panels will be capable of 720p HD, have contrast ratio of 10000:1 and brightness rating of 1000 cd/m2.

The plasma giant will consume 1200w of electricty and will cost in excess of £100,000 just for the screen which the TV manufactuter will then have to turn into a working model.

The Tories where toying with banning plasma screens and the fact that only a 100 or so of these beasts will be made initially  will probably please them greatly. Also it is highly unlikely any of these screens will find their way to the Uk living rooms. Even the posh living rooms of wealthy x private school boys. So David, you will just have to make do with your 18inch Goodmans portable a little longer.

Finally it is not clear how many bottles of CleanSafe would be used to keep it clean or how long it would take one person with a Maxi WOW cloth to clean it thoroughly. Anyway I suppose it is unlikely to have many kids finger marks near the top.
